The initiative is addressed to Migrants and Italians (as long as they are in a team with migrants) who are passionate about digital and innovation and reside or have a business in the territory of the 5 target regions (Basilicata, Campania, Apulia, Calabria, Sicily). You can participate in the initiative both as an "Individual" or as a "Team":
Individual. If you choose to participate as an individual, the Regulation of Next - Futuro Sud states that you must be an immigrant legally residing in Italy with one of the residence permits present under "Status";
Team. If you participate as a team, the Regulation provides that 51% of the capital of the legally constituted company must be owned by one or more migrants legally residing in Italy (with the same types of residence permit as for individual participation). The company or association may have already been set up or, if you intend to establish it later, it must be registered within 45 days of the project being selected for the acceleration program.
To sign up you must register your project through the "Register" button on the Home page (by following this link). Each participant must provide personal data and submit documentation and/or self-declarations. If you participate in a Team, a representative (Team Leader) will register the project and insert the e-mail references on behalf of the other members. They will in turn receive a link to access the platform, create their own credentials and enter their personal data.
Information about the Participants: personal details (name, surname, tax code, place and date of birth, domicile, ...), upload a copy of the residence permit (where applicable), self- certification on the level and type of education;
Information on legally constituted companies (where already established);
Information about the project: title, project presentation, team presentation, business plan.
The team must be composed of 51% migrants that reside in the 5 target regions of the Initiative (Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Apulia and Sicily). The project does not have to be legally constituted at the time of registration, but the team must commit to establish a company within 45 days of acceptance into the acceleration program. The ideal team is composed of members with diverse skills, including for example: business, design, development,...
The submitted project must have a concrete business plan, which clearly identifies the strengths and weaknesses of the product/service and its potential for success. The business model must present an original and innovative solution that meets real market needs. The idea / concept may not be protected by intellectual property but, in any case, ownership of the idea will remain with the originators of the idea. At the time of registration, there is no need for a legally constituted company behind the project. In case of admission to the acceleration program, however, the teams must commit to set up a company (e.g. Start ups, SMEs, associations, etc.) with a registered office in the target regions of the initiative within 45 days after acceptance to participate in the acceleration program.
The idea must be in the field of innovation and digitalization. Although it does not constitute a constraint or a criterion for evaluation, the project should offer an innovative solution in one of the leading sectors of the economy of Southern Italy, such as Health and Social Care, Logistics and Goods, Agrifood, Construction, Tourism and Financial and Insurance Activities.
The projects will be evaluated by the "Technical Board for Entrepreneurial Innovation" selected by the board of Ente Nazionale per il Microcredito. Find out more about the members of the Technical Board by clicking here.
When you register, you will be asked whether you want to register as a "Visitor" or "Innovator". Visitors can view only the title and a short description of the competing projects, but they cannot participate themselves. Innovators can submit their project but not see those of other applicants.
The activities of Next - Futuro Sud will take place on Officina dell'Innovazione (the physical innovation hub of ENM), and its online platform, through which you can work collaboratively, participate in events and activities remotely. Due to the spread of Covid-19, the activities of this specific initiative will be carried out mainly digitally. Depending on the evolution of the contingent situation, any changes will be promptly communicated to participants.
Acceleration is a program aimed at supporting the development of a business idea or an innovative project through the provision of mentoring sessions, tutoring, and professional services that promote the grounding of the idea, strengthen the business model and facilitate the launch of the related service/product on the market.
Officina dell'Innovazione is the Innovation Hub of Ente Nazionale per il Microcredito with physical headquarters in Naples at the innovation pole of San Giovanni a Teduccio, and a digital hub through which it carries out part of its activities. The aim of Officina dell'Innovazione is to actively support innovative projects by encouraging widespread adoption of innovation throughout the territory.
